Hello and welcome to the final day of the Newton’s Nook April release! Thanks so much for joining me during this week and for all your sweet and kind words! I appreciate so much your love and support!
All the new April products will be available for purchase on Friday, April 23rd at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!
On the last day of the release I’m so excited to introduce you two new beautiful Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp and Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Sets. Both new sets are a great addition to the NND “Heart Card Front Product Line” and coordinate perfectly with previously released Heart Frames Die and Banner Trio Die sets. Plus there’s a bonus sentiment set called Mom & Dad that comes just in time for Mother’s and Father’s Days and coordinates as well with Banner Trio Die Set.
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new Heartfelt Butterflies and Heartfelt Blooms stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
Today I decided to keep both cards quite simple in terms of design and give a special touch with a hinged die cut element arranged on the card front that, once opened, reveal a hidden message. What do you think about it?
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Stamp the beautiful big image from Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White paper. If you have a stamping positioning tool, impress the illustration a couple of times to achieve nice black lines.
- Frame the stamp inside the scalloped heart, using the coordinating Heart Frames Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Short Die Cutting machine.
- Die cut two more scalloped hearts from the same Neenah Solar White paper.
- Color the stamp with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- R00-R11-R12-R14
- R20-R22-R32
- YR000-YR00-YR02-YR04
- Y11-Y13
- YG01-YG09
- BG10-BG11-BG34
- Trim two small rectangle pieces from a clear acetate approximately 1/2″ x 2″ and score them in half to achieve two hinged elements.
- Adhere the hinges to the back side of the colored heart and join them with another die cut heart gluing once again from the back side. Use a strong double-sided tape adhesive on the acetate.
- Optional: you can glue another heart to the back side of the colored stamp to hide the acetate mechanism.
- Heat emboss in white onto black the sentiment from Mom & Dad Stamp Set and fussy cut it with the small sharp scissors.
- Stamp the hidden message inside. I decided for “You’re The Best!” phrase from Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set.
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim a slightly smaller rectangle from Concord & 9th Grapefruit cardstock.
- Add argyle pattern on the card front, using Argyle Stencil Set. Tape layer #1 with a removable tape and ink it with a white pigment ink. Align layer #2 following the guide lines on the stencil and add stitched stripes with a matching dye ink.
- Assemble all the elements together by gluing them directly to the card base with Multi Medium Matte liquid adhesive.
- Finish with a couple of clear sparkling sequins.

Beautiful! What a great hop.
Beautiful color palettes!
These are awesome! First off the colors are just wonderful. Second, love the background stencils. Third, both sentiments are front and center but without being too visually heavy and hiding that beautiful image. And how cool is that hidden message element!
Wonderful coloring. Like the hidden message under heart.
