On my stop of this hop you will find two summer themed, but completely different designs. I decided to hot foil the beautiful Fireworks Stencil across the dark night blue sky to add a bit sparkle and extra finish touch. The cute Buns Out Stamp Set was paired with a couple of small stamps from other sets to add a fun touch by dressing the hamburger with a chef hat and refreshing the whole design with some bottles of soda.
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut from Strathmore Bristol Paper all the elements you need, using the coordinating Newton’s 4th of July Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustrations from Newton’s 4th of July Stamp Set with VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink. Use the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Color the stamps with TOMBOW DUAL BRUSH MARKERS, using a water brush for blending. I used:
- N79 -055 – 515 -526 – 528
- 873 – 899 – 977 – 992
- plus Zig Clean Colour Real Brush marker n. 61 Light Brown
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim a slightly smaller rectangle from a Bristol cardstock to create a background piece since it’s smoother than Neenah paper.
- Ink the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, Peacock Feathers Distress, Salty Ocean Distress, Blueprint Sketch Oxide, Chipped Sapphire Distress, Black Soot Distress inks.
- Flick some tiny droplets of a clear shimmer spray all across. Let the background air dry or heat set it with a heat gun.
- Apply Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo through Fireworks Stencil. Tape well the paper to the stencil with a removable tape to prevent any movement. Let the gel air dry until it becomes transparent.
- Preheat a laminator for about 20 minutes, cut out and apply Gina K Sparkling Silver Foil with a shiny surface facing up on the background, place the inked background and the foil inside the parchment paper and send the sandwich through the hot laminator.
- Let the paper cool down for a couple of seconds and release the shiny pattern.
- Die cut two cloud edged pieces using Sky Borders Die Set from Neenah Solar White paper and from a vellum.
- Stamp the sentiment.
- Arrange all the elements on the card front. Glue the vellum in place with some foam dots, pop other stamps on a foam tape for fun dimensional look.
- Finish with a couple of highlights added with a white gel pen.
