Hello and welcome to the final day of the Newton’s Nook August release! Thanks so much for joining this week and for all you sweet and kind comments! I appreciate so much your love and support!
All the new August products will be available for purchase on Friday, August 20th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!
The last day of the August release reveals us two gorgeous fall themed Signs of Fall Stamp and Heartfelt Fall Stamp sets. The first one comes with the coordinating Signs of Fall Die Set. And the second – is another hilarious addition to the NND “Heart Card Front Product Line” that means the stamp set coordinates perfectly with the previously released Heart Frames Die and Banner Trio Die.
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new Signs of Fall and Heartfelt Fall stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
On my stop of this hop you will find two simple and yet different cards created with two completely different color media. Signs of Fall Stamp Set was transformed into a night watercolor scene! I just had fun laying down regular watercolors, purposely leaving a splotchy look! The beautiful autumn leaves from Heartfelt Fall Set fit so nicely the heart shape that I decided just to highlight the stamp, heat embossing the illustration to keep the stamp outlines sharp and black, and then added some bright colors with copic markers!
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut from Fabriano Extra White Watercolor paper the sign and some leaves, using the coordinating Signs of Fall Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustrations from Signs of Fall Stamp Set with VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink. Use the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Trim a rectangle from Arches Cold Pressed Watercolor paper to use as a background.
- Watercolor the stamps and the background with regular watercolors. I used my customized palette filled with Schmincke Horadam, Daniel Smith Extra Fine and Winsor & Newton Professional brands.
- Stamp the sentiment, using again the VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink and the stamping positioning tool.
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Desert Storm paper.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card front, using a foam tape to add a bit of dimension.
- Finish with a couple of matching sequins, adhered with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Prep a piece of Neenah Solar White paper with Powder Tool Applicator, stamp the Heartfelt Fall Stamp with VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink, sprinkle the image with Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat gun. If you use a stamping positioning tool, ink and impress the illustration a couple of times to achieve black solid outlines.
- Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- yellow Y00-Y11-Y13-Y15-Y17
- orange YR000-YR00-YR02-YR04-YR07
- red R20-R21-R22-R24-R27-R29
- green YG0000-YG00-YG01-YG07
- brown E30.E31-E33-E35
- Die cut from a black cardstock a banner with Banner Trio Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine.
- Heat emboss in white the sentiment, using VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink and Powder Tool Applicator.
- Trim and score a small slimline card base (6″ x 3 1/2″) from Simon Says Stamp Cream cardstock.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card front, using a foam tape to add a bit of dimension.
- Finish with a black twine, a coat of Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and couple of clear sparkling sequins adhered with the same Distress Collage Medium Matte.
