Newton’s Nook Designs Holiday Release and Giveaway – Day 3 – Christmas Cocktails & Dairy Christmas

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Newton’s Nook Holiday release! Thanks so much for joining me today! I can’t wait to share with you all the stunning new holiday and winter themed products!

Today I’m so excited to get in the holiday spirit with gorgeous new Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set filled with lots of festive cocktails and super fun puns and the most adorable critters from amazing new Dairy Christmas Stamp Set! On my stop of this hop you will find two simple watercolor cards! I just cannot help coloring the amazing cocktails in cheerful and bright festive colors and then arrange in a rainbow order on the card front against an inked background with a falling snow pattern. The cutest pile of animals is surrounded by amazing Christmas patterns from new just released on Monday Meowy Christmas Paper Pad that is just perfect for a quick and beautiful backgrounds!

Key Ingredients:

• Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set
• Christmas Cocktails Die Set
• Petite Snow Stencil

Step By Step Instructions:

• Die cut from Strathmore Bristol paper all the elements you need for your card, using the coordinating Christmas Cocktails Die Set. I used on this project Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
• Stamp the outline illustrations from Christmas Cocktails Stamp Set with VersaFine Onyx Black pigment ink. Use the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
• Color all the elements with water based markers, making the blending with a small water brush. I used:
  • TOMBOW DUAL BRUSH MARKERS
  • 133; 665; 905;
  • ZIG CLEAN COLOR REAL BRUSH MARKERS
  • n.029 Geranium Red
  • n.32 Persian Blue
  • n.36 Light Blue
  • n.41 Light Green
  • n.50 Yellow
  • n.51 Lemon Yellow
  • n.52 Bright Yellow
  • n.61 Light Brown
  • N.70 Orange
  • n.94 Gray Brown
• Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
• Ink the card front with Blueprint Sketch Oxide, Mermaid Lagoon Oxide, Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide, Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink, using the blending brushes to achieve a nice and smooth result.
• Splatter some tiny droplets of a clear shimmer spray on the inked background. Heat set the paper or let air dry.
• Tape well Petite Snow Stencil on the card front with a low tack tape and apply a white embossing paste all across. Lift up the stencil and let the paste air dry.
• Trim an additional rectangle 4 1/4″ with from the same Neenah Solar White paper and stamp the sentiment on it.
• Arrange all the elements on the card front and glue them in place by popping some on a foam tape for fun dimensional look.
• Finish with a couple of clear sparkling sequins.

• Frames & Flags Die Set
• Speech Bubbles Die Set
• Meowy Christmas Paper Pad

  • n.94 Gray Brown
• Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
• Trim a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ background piece from Meowy Christmas Paper Pad.
• Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper a stitched rectangle, using Frames & Flags Die Set. Tie a kraft twine around.
• Die cut a scalloped stripe from Meowy Christmas Paper Pad, using Sky Borders Die Set.
• Die cut a speech bubble from a black cardstock, using Speech Bubbles Die Set.
• Heat emboss in white the sentiment from Dairy Christmas Stamp Set with VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink onto the speech bubble. Don’t forget to prep the cardstock with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
• Arrange all the elements on the card front and glue them in place by popping some on a foam tape for fun dimensional look.
• Finish with a couple of clear sparkling sequins.
