Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook August release! Thank so much for joining me today! The NND Design Team and I keep sharing the peeks on the new Halloween and autumn themed products throughout this week!
Please note that all the new August products will be available for purchase on Friday, August 19th at Newton’s Nook Designs online store and other craft retailers!
Today I’m so excited to introduce you small, but not less cute Halloween Pile Stamp Set that comes with coordinating Halloween Pile Die Set and wonderful Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set that comes as a new addition to the NND Oval Card Front collection. As every other stamp from this collection it perfectly coordinates with the previously released Oval Frames Die Set!
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving away both new Halloween Pile and Spiderweb Oval stamp sets to lucky winners so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
My first card that features the Halloween Pile Stamp Set, turned out with a fun and yet quick and easy background created from the new pattern papers! And the second one that highlights the beauty of the spiderweb illustration from Spiderweb Oval Stamp Set, has an inked ombré card front embellished with some scary faces from Jack-o’-lantern Stencil Set!
Key Ingredients:
- Halloween Pile Stamp Set
- Halloween Pile Die Set
- Halloween Woofs Paper Pad
- Autumn Paper Pad
- Fancy Edges Tag Die Set
- Circle Frames Die Set
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper all the elements you need, using the coordinating Halloween Pile Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustration from Halloween Pile Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- cat YR30-Y32-YR21-YR24-YR27
- dog E30-E31-E35
- grey W00-T0-T1-T3-T5-T7
- orange YR000-YR02-Y17-YR04-YR18-E08
- violet V000-V01-V04-V12-V15-V09
- pink R000-R01
- green YG00-YG01-YG06
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim a slightly smaller rectangle from the same Neenah Solar White paper to use as a card front and to give more dimension to your card.
- Create the layout elements from new Halloween Woofs Paper Pad and Autumn Paper Pad:
- trim a zig zag rectangle for the bottom of the card front;
- die cut a ghostly tag, using Fancy Edges Tag Die Set;
- die cut the yellow circle, using Circle Frames Die Set.
- Heat emboss in white onto black the sentiment from Halloween Pile Stamp Set with VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink. Don’t forget to prep the paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Shape the sentiment into a fish-tail banner with the sharp small scissors.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements by popping some of them on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with a coat of a clear glitter pen, some highlights added with a white gel pen and a couple of clear sparkling sequins.
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Take a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock and ink it with Spun Sugar Distress, Milled Lavender Distress, Seedless Preserves Distress, Wilted Violet Distress inks, using the Mini Ink Blending Tool.
- Secure the layer #3 of Jack-o’-lantern Stencil Set with a low tack tape on the inked background and add the scary faces with Villainous Potion Distress ink all across, using again the Mini Ink Blending Tool.
- Splatter the inked piece with some tiny droplet of a clear shimmer spray and let it air dry very well before proceeding with heat embossing.
- Heat emboss in white onto the inked background the Spiderweb Oval, a small spider and the sentiment with VersaMark Clear Embossing Ink. Don’t forget to prep the paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Slightly trim the edges of the inked background.
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Pop on a foam tape the inked background to add a bit of dimension.
- Finish with some matching sequins from Heffy Doodle Royal Mist Embellishment Mix, adhered with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
