On my stop of this hop you will find two lovely spring cards! The first one features new small, but so incredibly cute Spring Haul Stamp Set paired with gorgeous teal paper piece from the new paper pad. The second one is all about ink blending with the fabulous new floral stencil!
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut from Neenah Solar White paper all the elements you need, using the coordinating Spring Haul Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustrations from Spring Haul Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- pink RV000-RV10-RV02-RV52-RV55-RV63-RV66
- yellow Y0000-Y13-Y17-Y18-Y38
- green #1 YG0000-YG01-YG05-G09
- green #2 G0000-G12-G14-G16
- teal BG0000-BG10-BG11-BG13
- brown #1 E0000-E30-E31-E34
- brown #2 E41-E43
- gray C00-T0-T1-T3-T5-T7
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim a slightly smaller piece of a teal pattern paper from Spring Blooms Paper Pad for the background.
- Die cut the tag from Neenah Solar White paper and the tag topper from a pink pattern paper from Spring Blooms Paper Pad, using Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine.
- Stamp the sentiment towards the bottom part of the tag with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. If you use a stamping positioning tool, ink and impress the stamp a couple of times to achieve a perfect black and crisp impression.
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card base, by popping some on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with a few highlights added with a white gel pen and a matching twine bow.
Key Ingredients:
Step By Step Instructions:
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim an additional 3 3/4″ x 5″ rectangle from the same Neenah Solar White paper.
- Trim two 3 3/4″ x 3/4″ panels from a cream cardstock. I used Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt cardstock.
- Secure the Spring Gardel Line Stencil with a low tack tape towards the bottom part of the 3 3/4″ x 5″ rectangle and ink the leaves and stems portion with Twisted Citron Distress and Mowed Lawn Distress inks, using the blending brushes and creating an ombré effect.
- Rotate the inked piece and repeat the same steps from the other side to add another line of leaves and stems.
- Align the tulips with the stems , using the guide lines on the Spring Gardel Line Stencil, and ink the flowers with Distress inks, using again the blending brushes and creating an ombré effect. These are the colors that I chose for my card:
- Die cut three times the letters “YOU”: twice from any scrap cardstock you have on hand and once from a gold foiled paper, using Essential Alphabet Die Set and and Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting machine.
- Glue together all three layers, placing the gold one on top, to create a faux chipboard element.
- Heat emboss in white onto black the second part of the sentiment from Heartfelt Essentials Stamp Set with VersaMark clear sticky ink. Don’t forget to prep the paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card base, by popping some on a foam tape for a fun dimensional look.
- Finish with some clear sparkling sequins adhered with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
DESIGNER’S TIP: While inking the colorful tulips, use a low tack tape to mask the nearby flowers and protect them from cross contamination of colors.
