Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook Back to Basics release! Thanks so much for joining me today! I’m so excited to introduce you all the stunning new products that the NND Design Team and I will be sharing throughout this week!
Giveaway alert!! NND is giving a $25 prizes, picked randomly from the Design Team members posts, so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of this post to see how to win!
Today on my card I’m featuring four wonderful new products: Basic Frames Die Set, Newton’s Bright Birthday Stamp Set plus the coordinating Newton’s Bright Birthday Die Set and Pastel Basics Paper Pad.
Today I cannot help featuring the most adorable birthday cats from the new Newton’s Bright Birthday Stamp Set! I colored the illustration with copic markers inspired by the colors from Basic Frames Die Set and then created a matching layout for the card front, mixing and matching the dies of different sizes and shapes!
Key Ingredients:
- Basic Frames Die Set
- Newton’s Bright Birthday Stamp Set
- Newton’s Bright Birthday Die Set
- Pastel Basics Paper Pad
Step By Step Instructions:
- Die cut all the elements you need from Neenah Solar White paper, using the coordinating Newton’s Bright Birthday Die Set and Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine or Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. Save the negative parts of the dies.
- Stamp the outline illustrations from Newton’s Bright Birthday Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using the negative parts of the dies as a guide for a perfect alignment inside the stamping positioning tool.
- Color the stamps with COPIC MARKERS. I used on this card:
- brown cat E40-E41-E42-E43-E44
- gray cats C00-C0-C1-C3-C5
- pink RV000-RV10-RV11-RV13
- red R0000-R02-R05
- yellow Y11-Y13-Y15-Y17
- green YG0000-YG01-YG06
- blue B0000-B000-B00-B01
- brown E0000-E30
- Trim and score an extended A2 size card base (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) from Neenah Solar White paper. I used Tim Holtz Maxi Guillotine Trimmer and Mini Score Board.
- Die cut the layout elements with Basic Frames Die Set:
- a dotted pink panel, using the largest frame from Basic Frames Die Set and Pastel Basics Paper Pad;
- a big fish-tail banner from Neenah Solar White paper;
- a green striped panel, using the biggest round corner die from Basic Frames Die Set and Pastel Basics Paper Pad;
- a solid yellow panel, using the small round corner die from Basic Frames Die Set.
- Heat emboss in white on yellow the sentiment with VersaMark clear sticky ink and Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Don’t forget to prep the paper with a Powder Tool Applicator to prevent the embossing powder to stick where you don’t want it!
- Arrange and glue in place all the elements on the card front by popping some of them on a foam tape for a bit of dimension.
- Finish with a few highlights added with a white gel pen. Add a couple of matching enamel dots and a few clear sparkling sequins.
